Description: After a violent prison escape, three convicts go on the run and take refuge in the home of a middle-class Black minister and his family. What begins as a tense hostage situation spirals into psychological torment, humiliation, and escalating brutality as the gang’s unstable, hate-filled leader tightens control.
The minister, a man of faith and restraint, is pushed to his breaking point while trying to protect his family. As the situation turns deadly and outside help closes in, survival demands a final confrontation that tests his beliefs, his limits, and his will to fight back.
A raw home-invasion thriller driven by performances from William Sanderson and Robert Judd, the film blends exploitation shock with heavy social tension, building toward a grim, hard-earned reckoning.
Legacy Note: Notorious for its confrontational racial themes, the film became one of the more controversial U.S. entries linked to the “Video Nasties” era overseas. Beyond its grindhouse reputation, it stands out as an unusually intense 70s home-invasion film that placed an upper-middle-class Black family — rarely centered in exploitation cinema of the time — at the heart of the story.
