Description: Michael Joseph Donovan, a rough-edged longshoreman from Coney Island, finds himself drowning in debt to the local mob. Brash, talkative, and perpetually down on his luck, Donovan refuses to play by their rules—even after being coerced into a high-stakes poker game rigged against him.
