Description: When Jon, a reserved film critic, and Luke, a reckless hustler, both receive life-altering HIV diagnoses, they form an unlikely bond and hit the road with nothing left to lose. Their journey quickly spirals into a raw and chaotic odyssey across California, blending nihilism, sexual tension, and dark humor.

As they confront homophobia, violence, and the looming specter of death, Jon and Luke’s clashing worldviews push them into volatile emotional territory—veering between self-destruction and a desperate search for meaning. What begins as a chance encounter becomes an intimate, dangerous exploration of love, mortality, and rebellion in the face of a society that sees them as expendable.

Directed by Gregg Araki, The Living End is a bold, confrontational piece of New Queer Cinema that refuses sentimentality and instead embraces rage, raw desire, and defiant freedom.
