Description: Dr. Fez is the trusted associate of the wealthy and powerful Christiani, but resentment begins to grow when he is expected to take the blame for his employer’s questionable business dealings. His frustration becomes personal when Claudia, Christiani’s beautiful young wife, coldly rejects his advances.

Fez discovers an experimental device capable of triggering intense desire through hypnotic suggestion. He secretly modifies the invention and turns Claudia into the unwilling subject of a dangerous psychological experiment.

With the push of a button, the elegant and seemingly untouchable Claudia becomes overwhelmed by impulses completely at odds with her controlled public image. Her increasingly uninhibited behavior creates scandal, confusion, and a trail of provocative encounters that threaten both her marriage and Christiani’s carefully protected reputation.

Florence Guérin is the unmistakable centerpiece of the film. Claudia shifts between sophisticated bourgeois restraint and uninhibited sensuality, allowing Guérin to play two radically different sides of the same woman while the story explores fantasy, control, voyeurism, and sexual liberation.

Beneath its playful erotic surface, The Click has a darker edge. Fez’s device turns desire into something that can be manipulated remotely, making the film as much about power and possession as pleasure.

Legacy Note: Directed by Jean-Louis Richard, The Click adapts Milo Manara’s famous erotic comic Le Déclic, preserving its central fantasy of technology capable of unlocking suppressed desire while relocating the story into a glossy mid-1980s cinematic world.

Jean-Pierre Kalfon gives Dr. Fez a mixture of bitterness, intelligence, and voyeuristic obsession, but it is Florence Guérin who defines the movie. Her striking beauty, expressive physical performance, and confident erotic presence helped make Claudia one of the memorable figures of 1980s European erotic cinema.

Stylish, provocative, and deliberately outrageous, The Click combines erotic fantasy, black comedy, science-fiction gimmickry, and bourgeois satire into a distinctly European cult curiosity—one built around the dangerous idea that desire might be activated as easily as switching on a remote control.
