Description: An aircraft carrying biological weapons crashes near the Kulla Peninsula in southern Sweden, unleashing a silent, creeping threat on a small seaside resort town and its unsuspecting residents.
As fog and illness spread, the local authorities scramble to contain the disaster. Meanwhile, curiosity, fear and moral crisis ripple through the community: evacuees coughing in the mist; doctors unsure; the municipality caught between panic and bureaucracy. Deadline becomes not just about containment of the toxic cloud — it becomes a reflection on how a modern society reacts when its systems fail.
Visually moody and ominously paced, the film rides on atmospheric cinematography and a steadily mounting sense of dread.
Olsson uses the disaster as a canvas to explore human fragility, institutional breakdown, and the thin veneer of control in everyday life.
