Description: Ginger McAllister is wealthy, beautiful, fearless, and far more dangerous than the criminals around her expect. Recruited to help expose a small-town network of drugs, blackmail, and hidden exploitation, she becomes the bait in a risky undercover operation that has already cost other investigators their lives.

The target is Rex Halsey, a sleazy criminal operator whose organization hides behind beach-town respectability while preying on vulnerable women. The police need someone who can move through his world without looking like a cop, someone glamorous enough to draw attention and tough enough to survive once the trap closes.

That someone is Ginger.

She enters the case like a low-budget female James Bond filtered through early-70s grindhouse sleaze: seductive, sarcastic, ruthless when necessary, and fully aware that men keep underestimating her. Every flirtation is a tactic. Every invitation is a test. Every room she enters might be wired with danger.

As Ginger moves deeper into Halsey’s circle, she uncovers a dirty operation of intimidation, vice, and violence. The case pulls her through motel rooms, criminal hideouts, private parties, and bondage-tinged danger, but Ginger is never simply a victim waiting to be rescued. She uses her looks, nerve, and survival instincts as weapons, turning the criminals’ own appetites against them.

Ginger is rough, cheap, and unmistakably of its moment — a 1971 sexploitation crime thriller built from nudity, revenge, handcuffs, bad attitudes, and female-led danger. Its plot may be thin, but its attitude is everything: Ginger walks into a man’s exploitation fantasy and starts fighting back from the inside.

Legacy Note:
Ginger launched the cult trilogy that made Cheri Caffaro one of the most recognizable faces of early-70s American sexploitation. Written and directed by Don Schain, the film introduced Ginger McAllister as a tough undercover adventuress — part spy, part private-eye, part drive-in fantasy figure — and its success led directly to The Abductors and Girls Are for Loving.

The film is very much a product of its era: blunt, sleazy, politically incorrect, and packed with the kind of low-budget sensationalism that made exploitation cinema both disreputable and commercially effective. Yet its historical value is real. Ginger offered a rare female-fronted action-sexploitation figure at a time when most films of this type treated women only as prey or decoration.

Messy but memorable, Ginger remains the starting point for one of grindhouse cinema’s strangest anti-heroines — a blonde avenger moving through the filth of 1970s crime cinema with a smile, a trap, and absolutely no patience for anyone who thinks she is easy to control.
