Brutally nihilistic grindhouse western. This is the west at its ugliest and most raw. There’s no romanticism of the old west here, just the reality of the abhorrent treatment of minorities and women.
It may be rough around the edges but that just adds to the raw atmosphere. Just like the life depicted in the film, there is nothing shiny and polished here, no hint of beauty outside of the gorgeous melancholic acoustic soundtrack. Utterly bleak.
