Description: In a distant galaxy ruled by corrupt authorities and ruthless military officers, beautiful and fearless Taura struggles to survive on the hostile mining planet Arous. When a confrontation with the sadistic commander Bantor leaves him horribly injured, the young woman is unjustly condemned to serve her sentence aboard a gigantic prison spacecraft.

Transported to the notorious Star Slammer, Taura discovers a nightmarish world of women in prison, brutal discipline, and bizarre interplanetary justice. Under the absolute authority of the cruel Warden Exene, the female prisoners endure constant intimidation, dangerous punishments, and the unpredictable behavior of their eccentric guards.

Initially rejected by her fellow inmates, Taura gradually earns their respect through courage and determination. Together with the resourceful prisoner Mike, she begins searching for a way to escape the seemingly impregnable spaceship and return to her home planet.

But Taura’s troubles are far from over. The vengeful Bantor arrives aboard the prison vessel, determined to exploit a sinister mind-control experiment capable of transforming prisoners into obedient servants. Meanwhile, bizarre alien creatures, mechanical guards, and vicious mutant rodents create further chaos throughout the ship.

As the situation erupts into rebellion, Taura and her companions seize an unexpected opportunity to fight back. What follows is a wildly entertaining mixture of prison escapes, futuristic battles, outrageous villains, and wonderfully ridiculous special effects.

Prison Ship Star Slammer combines vintage science fiction, campy action, provocative nudity, and classic sexploitation into a delightfully eccentric outer-space adventure. Its colorful costumes, tongue-in-cheek dialogue, and bizarre futuristic environments make it an unmistakable product of 1980s American B-movie imagination.

Legacy Note: Directed by Fred Olen Ray, The Adventures of Taura: Prison Ship Star Slammer transforms the familiar women-in-prison formula into a science-fiction adventure. Its combination of sadistic authority figures, rebellious female prisoners, and spectacularly eccentric villains recalls the exploitation traditions of Caged Heat (1974), transplanted into an outrageous futuristic setting.

Sandy Brooke brings athletic confidence and rebellious energy to Taura, while Suzy Stokey portrays her fellow prisoner Mike. Marya Gant makes a memorable antagonist as the tyrannical Warden Exene, supported by Dawn Wildsmith, Bobbie Bresee, Lindy Skyles, and Vivian Schilling. Veteran character actors Ross Hagen and Aldo Ray add further personality to the film’s eccentric interplanetary society.

The movie’s deliberately exaggerated space-opera atmosphere makes it an entertaining companion to Space Mutiny (1988), another wonderfully campy example of low-budget science-fiction adventure. Fred Olen Ray continued exploring unconventional combinations of horror, comedy, and exploitation in Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988).

Outrageous, energetic, and proudly eccentric, The Adventures of Taura: Prison Ship Star Slammer remains a memorable curiosity of 1980s cult cinema—a delirious journey through futuristic captivity, rebellious heroines, monstrous creatures, and the gloriously excessive imagination of Fred Olen Ray.
