Description: Young Eve arrives at a remote women’s health retreat in the Austrian spa town of Bad Marein, seeking calm and recovery under the care of the clinic’s authoritative Dr. Barbara. The elegant surroundings and the promise of renewal quickly give way to something far more sinister as Eve notices that the men invited to the resort are treated not as guests, but as prey.
As Eve delves deeper into the strange routines of the clinic—bra-burning rituals, mysterious disappearances, late-night gatherings and a hulking gardener lurking in the shadows—she begins to suspect that the retreat is run by a network of female‐led conspirators who see the male guests as expendable. With the local police indifferent and the staff evasive, Eve must find a way to escape before she becomes the next victim of this dark underworld disguised as therapy.
Blending 1970s kraut-horror atmospherics, surreal camera work and feminist nightmare imagery, The Females delivers a chilling allegory of power inverted—where liberation becomes obsession and healing becomes horror.
