Description: This twisted thriller blends elements of psychological tension with occasional eroticism, though its dark themes are more pronounced. The story revolves around a young woman, played by Nicole DeBonne, known for her role in Max Pecas’ Claude and Greta (also titled Her and She and Him). DeBonne, who bears a striking resemblance to a young Joan Rivers, portrays a 20-year-old woman living in a large house in the French countryside. She shares the home with her mute sister, her blonde cousin, and her mother.
The household is a strange and unsettling one. Men are scarce, with the exception of a robust man who occasionally visits DeBonne. However, when the cousins encounter any man, they become noticeably wild. Most of their time is spent taking care of DeBonne’s mute sister, who has been rendered speechless and helpless after being traumatized by the death of a childhood friend. Unable to speak or even feed herself, the mute sister becomes a target of cruelty. The cousins frequently torment her, slapping her, attaching a loud radio to her wheelchair, and forcing her to witness their drug use.
The plot takes a darker turn when the mother leaves for a weekend on business. The cousins seize this opportunity to host a chaotic swingers’ party, which leads to a bizarre climax that stops short of a full-blown orgy. Afterward, fearing that their mute sister may expose their wild behavior, the cousins devise a cruel plan to frighten her into silence—or worse, to scare her to death.
This dark narrative intertwines dysfunctional family dynamics with a backdrop of cruelty, manipulation, and hidden desires.
