Description:Paolo il caldo stars Giancarlo Giannini, dapper as previously, as an intimately addicted Italian nobleman, and points his erotic intrusions throughout the early to mid 20th century. We 1st match him as a randy schoolboy glimpsing under the dresses of the household help, and the movie tracks him over the years with brief stopovers throughout the 1936 Fascist-era conquest of Ethiopia and the postwar comedown. By film’s end our eager hero is still attempting to pick up females from the boundaries of his motor car, as he tearfully tries to bust his intimate addiction. The flick also features a commonly over the top efficiency by Lionel Stander, here playing trust it or not Giannini’s grandfather. This is not a video that plays well in English: the dubbing is appropriate, but much of the film relies on close understandings of Italian character, culture, and past, and these aspects of the story are badly presented by the translation. Regrettably, the dubbed version is the only version readily available in your local video emporium. Shot in autumnal colors by the great Tonino Delli Colli, The Sensual Man benefits from a romantic if unoriginal score by Armando Trovajoli.
