Description: Director Irving Klaw presents a variety of burlesque acts in this entertaining snapshot of 1950s American kitsch. Legendary pin-up queen Bettie Page may not be the smoothest dancer, but her charisma shines through as she dons a harem girl outfit and energetically takes the stage. Singers Cass Franklin and Monica Lane deliver charming duets, while Peppe and Roccio captivate with their dynamic flamenco performance. Baros and Rogers provide a stark contrast with their tasteless slapstick routine that humorously (albeit shockingly) pokes fun at marital dynamics. Shelley Leigh, a ravishing redhead, impresses with her voluptuous figure and high energy. Christine Nelson’s singing is commendable, even if her jokes fall flat. Female impersonator Vicki Lynn delivers a solid number. However, the show’s standout is Lilli St. Cyr, a stunning blonde whose scorching performance, elegance, and stage presence live up to the hype. While the acts vary in quality, the overall experience is undeniably enjoyable.
