Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary (1975) watch online

Directed by: Juan López Moctezuma
Actors: Cristina Ferrare, David Young and John Carradine
Language: English
Country: USA, Mexico

Also known as: Mary, Bloody Mary, Mary, Mary, krwawa Mary

Description: Pretty classically Moctezuma-esque story, with Cristina Ferrare playing Mary, a bisexual artist who may or may not be a vampire (and the late John Carradine making a cameo I won’t spoil). All we know is that her lovers keep showing up with the blood drained from their bodies, and a strange man in a black cloak keeps chasing her around. Plenty of nudity and gore and all that, but I think there is some really interesting stuff going on honestly. A lot of the editing and scene transitions are really interesting and sort of ahead of their time. The film is notable in it’s depiction of a brutal, but sort of vulnerable and “human” vampire (interesting sort of contradiction there), because it predates George A. Romero’s brilliant “Martin” which takes a similar tone. The sexual ambiguities at play here also add another level to the film, and sort of prefigure the recent cultural obsession with the sexuality of vampires (the Twilight films/books being the most prominent examples. Anyway, enjoy!.
