Description: An anthropology professor, Michal (Bogusław Linda), finds his life torn between science, faith, and desire after unearthing the perfectly preserved corpse of a 3,000-year-old shaman from a swamp. Fascinated by the relic’s aura of primal mysticism, Michal becomes equally consumed by a volatile young woman (Iwona Petry) known only as The Italian—a beautiful, feral drifter who works at a meat factory and lives entirely by animal instincts.
From the moment they meet at a train station, their relationship spirals into a feverish chain of brutal, joyless sexual encounters—raw, obsessive, and destructive. While Michal contemplates marriage to his cultured fiancée or retreating into the priesthood like his brother, The Italian embodies everything he cannot control: lust without limits, violence without conscience, and a terrifying hunger that borders on the supernatural.
As their affair deepens, the boundaries between passion and madness collapse. Michal’s obsession with the shaman’s corpse mirrors his surrender to the woman’s dangerous sexuality. The result is a delirious descent into primal desire, where love and death entwine and reason is consumed in fire.
