Description: Il Ficcanaso (The Nosy One) is a wildly entertaining blend of giallo thriller, supernatural satire, and Italian-style slapstick, directed by the ever-playful Bruno Corbucci. At the center of the chaos is Luciano Persichetti (Pippo Franco), an unlucky, neurotic everyman who stumbles into the public spotlight when he claims to possess psychic abilities. His supposed premonitions—visions of grisly murders—draw him into a spiraling mystery, especially when these visions begin coming true.
Luciano wins the affection of Susanna (played by the radiant Edwige Fenech), a charming parapsychology student who is intrigued by his abilities. But the romance is short-lived. As more murders unfold exactly as Luciano “foretells” them, the police begin to suspect that he may actually be the killer himself. Meanwhile, a shadowy figure calling himself “The Guardian Angel” lurks in the background, toying with Luciano and blurring the line between the supernatural and the psychotic.
With his credibility crumbling and Susanna drifting away, Luciano is thrust into a series of increasingly absurd and suspenseful situations. Are his visions real? Is he being framed? Or is it all just a figment of his overactive imagination?
Mixing eerie atmospheres with laugh-out-loud farce, Il Ficcanaso is both a playful jab at Italy’s obsession with the paranormal and a cheeky love letter to the giallo genre. With Pippo Franco’s expressive comedy and Edwige Fenech’s magnetic charm, the film offers a bizarre yet delightful ride through a world of twisted prophecies, mistaken identities, and killer instincts.
