Description: In the golden age of arcade mania, Joysticks delivers a colorful and chaotic slice of 1980s youth culture. Set in a buzzing video game arcade run by the carefree Jefferson Bailey, the film follows the battle between fun-loving teens and an uptight businessman, Joseph Rutter (played by Joe Don Baker), who is hell-bent on shutting the place down. Why? Because his Valley Girl daughter keeps spending too much time there—and he’s convinced video games are the gateway to moral decay.
As Jefferson teams up with a ragtag crew of arcade misfits—including nerds, rebels, and a gang of outrageous punks known as the “Vidiots”—they prepare for an all-out joystick showdown to save their beloved hangout. With absurd gags, over-the-top characters, risqué humor, and a nonstop stream of ‘80s synth-pop, the film doesn’t just tell a story—it embodies an entire generation.
Full of zany hijinks, gratuitous nudity, and adolescent rebellion, Joysticks is a shamelessly trashy and wildly nostalgic celebration of teen freedom, digital dreams, and the neon-lit chaos of the early arcade era.
