Description: A traumatized woman, Silvia, narrowly escapes a brutal rape attempt and is rescued by Claudio, a cold and enigmatic photographer. From the start, the film’s disjointed editing and surreal atmosphere signal that reality and artifice are deeply blurred. Claudio brings Silvia to his home, where she recounts her trauma under the harsh glare of his studio lights. Left to wander, she explores his home filled with eerie art objects—dolls in jars, strange keys, and disembodied eyes—while revisiting her assault in nightmarish, hallucinatory flashes.
Claudio, a former war photographer haunted by his own trauma, uses art and sexual power dynamics to process his inner turmoil. As the film progresses, their interactions grow increasingly perverse and unsettling, marked by scenes of nudity, bizarre fetishes, and unnerving power plays. Claudio’s disconnection from reality deepens, reflected in disorienting editing and disturbing juxtapositions, such as war footage and sexually charged moments.
The film crescendos with escalating depravity, culminating in scatological imagery and a surreal, mind-bending conclusion that blurs the lines between madness and art. Unapologetically strange and provocative, it delves into themes of trauma, exploitation, and artistic obsession, leaving viewers to question whose insanity they’ve been witnessing. Anchored by Bach’s haunting soundtrack and an unsettling aesthetic, the film offers a surreal, exploitative journey into human darkness.
